Rex Vines
Rex Vines accepts briefs in all areas of commercial law and public law.
Rex also advises on complex energy and energy regulatory matters. He has a deep knowledge and understanding of both the WA and National energy market laws and rules, energy policy development and law reform processes that was obtained through more than 15 years’ experience in working for industry, Government and regulatory bodies.
Immediately prior to joining the Bar, Rex was the principal legal adviser to Energy Policy WA (the WA Government Department assisting the Minister for Energy) and the WA Minister for Energy in his oversight of the energy portfolio and the activities of the State-owned utilities Synergy, Western Power and Horizon Power.
Rex’s clients value his pragmatic approach, commercial acumen and the ease of working with him.
Rex commenced his career at the State Solicitor’s Office of Western Australia where his practice included a range of commercial and public law matters and he appeared in most jurisdictions, including the Supreme, District and Magistrates Courts, and the State Administrative Tribunal.
