Francis Burt Chambers warmly congratulates Steven Jones SC on his appointment as a Judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA) (Division 1) and of the Family Court of Western Australia (FCWA).
Mr Jones SC was admitted to practice in WA in 1983. He commenced his legal career at Ilbery, Barblett & O’Dea, later joining the Legal Aid Commission where he served for some 12 years as a solicitor practising mainly in criminal and family law.
Mr Jones SC joined the independent Bar in 2000, and Francis Burt Chambers in 2008. He was appointed Senior Counsel in 2021.
With more than two decades’ experience at the Bar, Mr Jones SC’s principal areas of practice have been in family law, child protection and care matters, acting regularly as the chairperson in family law mediations.
