Senior Counsel appointments for FBC members

Francis Burt Chambers is privileged to celebrate the appointment of two members to the rank of Senior Counsel for the State of Western Australia.

The appointment of Matthew Curwood and Kim Lendich to Senior Counsel – made by the Chief Justice of Western Australia, the Hon Justice Peter Quinlan – is the culmination of a lengthy and extensive consultation process across the profession.

This is an outstanding honour recognising barristers who have shown their dedication to the pursuit of justice through eminence in the practice of law, especially advocacy, and their personal commitment to the principles of integrity, availability and independence.

Their contribution as advocates and advisers furthers the administration of justice in our State.

Matthew Curwood SC was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 1993. He has practised as an independent barrister since 2013, from Francis Burt Chambers. Prior to joining the Bar, he practised as the legal practice director of his own practice Curwood & Co Lawyers.

Kim Lendich SC was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 2001. She has practised as an independent barrister since 2012, from Francis Burt Chambers. Prior to joining the Bar, she practised at a number of national law firms.

We extend our heartiest congratulations to Matt and Kim, and also extend our congratulations to other members of the Bar – Graham Droppert SC and Penelope Giles SC, and to Lindsay Fox SC from the DPP and Alan Sefton SC from the State Solicitor’s Office, who have also been appointed Senior Counsel.
